EQUIPMENT WE CAN DISCUSS

Keg fleets are productive brewery assets.

Build a supplier quote around commercial-use, returnable equipment rather than single-use inventory. Equipment and collateral eligibility are reviewed case by case.

✓ Used or refurbished commercial kegs
✓ 1/6-barrel, 1/4-barrel, 1/2-barrel and 50-liter formats
✓ Sankey-compatible reusable kegs and fleet expansion

WHY MORE KEGS MATTER

Your keg fleet can determine how much draft beer reaches customers.

When beer is packaged and shipped, its reusable keg may be unavailable until it is emptied, returned, inspected and cleaned.

A growing taproom, restaurant or distributor network can require more kegs even when brewing capacity stays the same. Plan around fill volume, average return cycles, formats, loss and repair—not just the number of accounts served.

FLEET PLANNING

Estimate the actual keg requirement.

1. Outbound demand: How many filled kegs leave per week?

2. Cycle time: How many weeks until a usable keg returns?

3. Buffer: How many are in cleaning, maintenance or reserve?

Example: 80 kegs shipped weekly × 4-week circulation = 320 kegs in circulation, before reserve stock. This is a planning illustration, not a financing quote.

CASH FOR THE NEXT BATCH

Build the keg fleet. Keep working capital moving.

Purchasing hundreds of reusable stainless steel kegs upfront can compete with cash needed for malt, hops, yeast, packaging and payroll. A suitable equipment payment plan can spread eligible keg acquisition costs over time, preserving some upfront liquidity while creating an ongoing monthly obligation.

SUPPLIER QUOTE CHECKLIST

What to include in your keg quote.

Ask the vendor to itemize keg quantity, sizes, stainless grade, spear/coupler specifications, whether the units are new or refurbished, freight, handling, warranty and applicable marking or tracking systems.

For used kegs, obtain a description of condition and ownership, age where available, service history, inspection and pressure-test documentation. Avoid assuming keg deposits, beer inventory or disposable packaging are financeable equipment.

OWNED FLEET VS RENTAL

Compare total operating commitments.

Owned fleet: More control over equipment, return logistics and long-term reuse, but you manage losses and maintenance.

Rental / pooled kegs: Potentially lower owned asset needs, with recurring rental, tracking and handling commitments.

Evaluate the operational model alongside the actual equipment quote and offered payment terms.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Commercial keg purchase FAQs.

Can breweries request financing for a bulk keg purchase?

Yes, breweries can submit a commercial keg fleet quote for review. Eligibility depends on the quantity, equipment type, supplier, purchase structure and underwriting—not every keg order qualifies.

Does this cover the beer inside the kegs?

No. The focus of this page is returnable commercial equipment. Beer, ingredients, consumables and general inventory financing are not advertised here.

What about used or refurbished stainless kegs?

Qualifying used equipment may be considered. Provide the supplier invoice, equipment descriptions, condition and available ownership or inspection documentation.

Can washers and fillers be included?

Ask about packaging eligible kegs with related assets on a documented supplier quote. Learn more about keg washer and filler financing.

Why finance kegs instead of paying cash?

Financing may reduce the initial equipment outlay and leave more cash for production and operations. Total cost, down payment and monthly payments depend on approved terms.
